Getting there

The Ceremony

The Reception

Brook House Farm, Walkmills
Church Stretton, Shropshire, SY6 6NJ

St Mary's Church, Vineyard Cottages

Longnor, Shrewsbury, SY5 7PX

By car

St Mary's Church
The church is easily accessible via the A49. Just take the turning for Longor, then follow the road round to the right and you'll soon see a sign directing you to the church car park. You'll find it on sat navs too. There is plenty of parking space and toilets are located in the church hall. If the car park is full, we do have an overflow car park at Longnor Primary school which is just up the road on the left (you can see it from the church car park). Our dashing groomsman will be on hand to help too.

Brook House Farm
The reception venue is a 5 minute drive from the church. Head back to the A4
9 and turn left onto it. Carry on along the A49 until you see a sign that reads 'Walkmills / Smethcott'. Turn right up that road and just keep going. You'll see a small red post box at a mini crossroad, turn left there. You'll pass Brook House Farm on your left, don't go into the yard, instead drive just pass it and you'll see a sign for the car park. You'll find the venue on a sat nav too.

Public transport

St Mary's Church
The nearest major train station to the church is Shrewsbury. You can get a taxi from there to the church (approx. journey time 20 mins). There are usually taxis waiting there but we can't guarantee this. The nearest local station is Church Stretton (approx. taxi journey time 9 mins). Please note that taxis don't often wait outside Church Stretton station so you would need to book in advance. Details for taxi companies can be found below.

Brook House Farm
There will be plenty of people driving to the reception so you'll be able to get a lift. If in doubt please speak to a groomsman who will be able to assist.

Carriages

Parking overnight
Feel free to leave your car parked overnight at the reception venue should you wish. We'll save the whole 'done so entirely at your own risk' spiel as it's the standard stuff!

Taxis
The reception is in a lovely but very rural location, so we strongly advise booking taxis in advance. Below is a list of local taxi providers. It's also worth asking if they take card as some may not.

Just as a reminder, the official Carriages time is half past midnight.

Firstly, it's worth mentioning that if you're travelling from afar and considering turning your trip into a bit of a mini-break, you won't be disappointed. The reception venue is not only Emily's parents' farm but also a campsite (sadly not available during the wedding - we're taking over just a tad!) and their website
has a handy guide to the local area and beyond!

So on to the matter of accommodation. The problem with living locally is we haven't actually sampled places to stay, so we'd feel fraudulent recomm
ending anywhere! Therefore we'd suggest going off the advice of Booking.com, Trip Advisor or indeed good old Google. There are lots of beautiful locations in the surrounding area, and the nearest towns are Church Stretton and Shrewsbury. Here's a link to Google Maps with the nearby hotels shown.
